Original Cyanotype on Paper 15 x 22"

This cyanotype is a double exposure, blending broad tropical leaves with striped areca palm fronds. Soft waves of sepia and blue intertwine, creating a layered look with natural depth. The overlapping shapes in earthy sepia and deep teal tones evoke a sense of movement, as if viewing tropical foliage through filtered light. This harmonious mix of leaves and colors brings a warm, tranquil energy to the piece, capturing the essence of a lush, sunlit forest.

Each cyanotype is a one-of-a-kind original, crafted from leaves I've gathered from around the world, making each piece like a journal of my travels. Made on watercolor paper, each artwork has my signature on the front and back. The cyanotype process involves soaking the paper in water, sometimes multiple times, which can create small tears. I've reinforced these spots with tape when needed, though they won’t show once framed. This process uses sunlight to create natural shapes in rich blue tones, giving each piece its own unique character.
