Original Cyanotype on Paper 15 x 22"

This cyanotype is a double exposure, creating a layered effect with areca palm fronds and flowing wave patterns. The piece has a rich blend of deep blue and sepia tones that shift across the composition, with the palm fronds outlined in soft blues and overlaid by sepia waves. These hand-painted wave forms give the piece a sense of gentle motion, reminiscent of water flowing over plants in a tropical setting. The combination of earthy sepia and tranquil blues brings depth and warmth, capturing a balance between nature and movement.

Each cyanotype is a one-of-a-kind original, crafted from leaves I've gathered from around the world, making each piece like a journal of my travels. Made on watercolor paper, each artwork has my signature on the front and back. The cyanotype process involves soaking the paper in water, sometimes multiple times, which can create small tears. I've reinforced these spots with tape when needed, though they won’t show once framed. This process uses sunlight to create natural shapes in rich blue tones, giving each piece its own unique character.
