Original Cyanotype on Paper 11x30"

This cyanotype features a prominent maple leaf as the central focus, layered alongside oak leaves, ferns, and star-shaped flora. Horizontal bands of textured sepia break up the deep blue background, creating a striped effect that guides the eye through the composition. The maple leaf and other botanical elements appear as soft silhouettes, adding depth and a sense of movement, as if glimpsed through misty layers. The combination of bold shapes and subtle textures brings a calming, dreamlike quality, evoking the feeling of a quiet forest scene touched by gentle light.

Each cyanotype is a one-of-a-kind original, crafted from leaves I've gathered from around the world, making each piece like a journal of my travels. Made on watercolor paper, each artwork has my signature on the front and back. The cyanotype process involves soaking the paper in water, sometimes multiple times, which can create small tears. I've reinforced these spots with tape when needed, though they won’t show once framed. This process uses sunlight to create natural shapes in rich blue tones, giving each piece its own unique character.
