This cyanotype is distinct from the rest, as it features a hand-drawn white detailing inside the leaves, making the white areas pop against the deep blue background. The composition includes various tropical leaves, ferns, and star-shaped flora, each outlined with delicate, hand-applied white to enhance contrast and add a personal, hands-on touch. The layered effect, combined with the intricate detailing, brings depth and vibrancy to the piece, capturing the essence of tropical foliage with a unique artistic flair.
Each cyanotype is a one-of-a-kind original, crafted from leaves I've gathered from around the world, making each piece like a journal of my travels. Made on watercolor paper, each artwork has my signature on the front and back. The cyanotype process involves soaking the paper in water, sometimes multiple times, which can create small tears. I've reinforced these spots with tape when needed, though they won’t show once framed. This process uses sunlight to create natural shapes in rich blue tones, giving each piece its own unique character.
