At the center are large bigleaf maple leaves from Seattle, their detailed veins showing beautifully against the deep blue background. Around them is a mix of many different leaf shapes, from small oak leaves and rounded poplar leaves to delicate pine sprigs, fern fronds, and clusters of simple flowers and star shaped blooms.
The background shifts through layered blues with subtle brushstrokes from hand-applying the chemicals, adding a gentle, painterly feeling. All the different plants settle together in a natural, drifting rhythm, as if they’ve floated into place on calm water.
