A large Palmetto fan leaf bursts from the lower centre, its long pointed fronds radiating upward like a sunburst. Sweeping curved brushstrokes arc around it in bold swirling arches, creating a sense of movement and flow throughout the piece. Plumeria flowers, fern fronds and small rounded leaves are scattered across the background. Gold star details are dotted throughout, glowing softly against the rich tones. The colours shift between deep teal and olive green, with bright white strokes and pale powder blue botanicals adding contrast and light.
Created using the cyanotype process, two chemicals are hand mixed and applied to watercolor paper, real botanicals are placed on top and exposed to natural sunlight, then washed by hand to reveal the image. Each piece is completely one-of-a-kind original artwork.
