This cyanotype presents a stylized tree of life, its branches stretching gracefully upward, filled with various leaves like maple, ginkgo, and star-shaped flowers. Soft waves flow across the background, adding a sense of motion, as if the tree is growing beside a flowing river or under a starlit sky. The deep blue tones create a calming ambiance, while the lighter branches and leaves stand out, symbolizing growth, connection, and renewal. Each cyanotype is a one-of-a-kind original, crafted from leaves I've gathered from around the world, making each piece like a journal of my travels. Made on watercolor paper, each artwork has my signature on the front and back. The cyanotype process involves soaking the paper in water, sometimes multiple times, which can create small tears. I've reinforced these spots with tape when needed, though they won’t show once framed. This process uses sunlight to create natural shapes in rich blue tones, giving each piece its own unique character.
