This cyanotype features a prominent tree silhouette, with its branches reaching upwards amidst layers of horizontal, wave-like bands. The background’s rich, dark blues contrast against the lighter, almost ethereal tree shape, creating a serene yet mysterious atmosphere. Scattered across the composition are leaf shapes, including maple and ginkgo, which add depth and texture to the scene. Each cyanotype is a one-of-a-kind original, crafted from leaves I've gathered from around the world, making each piece like a journal of my travels. Made on watercolor paper, each artwork has my signature on the front and back. The cyanotype process involves soaking the paper in water, sometimes multiple times, which can create small tears. I've reinforced these spots with tape when needed, though they won’t show once framed. This process uses sunlight to create natural shapes in rich blue tones, giving each piece its own unique character.
